Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance and quality control efforts across our construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and implementing project-specific QA/QC plans, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with contract documents, industry codes, and internal standards. This is a detail-oriented role ideal for a quality-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is committed to building a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and audits of construction activities, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents, industry codes, and internal standards.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics and trends.
- Review material submittals, test reports, and certifications for compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with the project team to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during QA inspections and field work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
- Knowledge of QA/QC standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes (e.g., ASTM, ACI, ASME, ISO).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ACI/ICC certifications are a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
