Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS Technical Degree.
  • Preferred 2 years working experience in a manufacturing environment in a quality related function.
  • Preferred knowledge of automotive APQP/PPAP processes
  • Have good verbal & written communication skills
  • Have a command of problem-solving techniques such as 8-D, GM 5-Phase methods, etc
  • Preferred knowledge of ISO 14001 & IATF 16949
  • Understanding of FMEA & Control Plans
  • Able to supervise & lead subordinates
  • Statistical abilities, & understanding of gage R&R's, capability studies
  • Conduct self as a Professional Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Product & Process, Internal IATF, and LPA audits
  • Provide data and Reports for Continuous improvement opportunities (Scrap, 8D's, PPM, Process Capability Analysis, etc.)
  • Seek resolution to quality problems both internal & external using problem solving methods
  • Lead 8D activities with cross functional teams to have timely resolution of problems
  • Assist QE's with completion of internal & external PPAP submissions
  • Assist QE's in the resolution of non-conforming material & disposition of same
  • Work with Quality Lab Inspectors on metrology & gage concerns
  • Assist QE's in defining gaging methods for manufactured/purchased materials and train operators to Gage Instructions
  • Assist QE's with Ensure Gages are set up and maintained in the Gage Calibration System
  • Develop & revise audit plans and forms
  • Help to improve IATF16949 implementation and continual system improvements
  • Perform gage R&R's and train others to do the same
  • Perform machine capability studies
  • Participate in change management activity for the Plant
  • Develop & conduct training programs for shop floor operators
  • Maintain Quality related information on team boards
  • Represent the Muncie Plant in meetings with customer SQE's, etc.
  • Participate in MaFact, MQS, and IATF External Audits
  • Lead one MQS (Magna Quality System) Element for the Plant and work with Cowan Element Champion to improve our systems & procedures.
