BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our Microelectronics Center's (MEC's) Foundry Operation and Module Development Facility (MDF) at our site in Nashua, NH. The MEC and the supported programs have the technology and engineering teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. In this role, you will:
- Provide quality engineering support to the MEC Foundry and MDF manufacturing value stream as product progresses through the wafer fabrication and module development operations.
- Utilize quality control and statistical data to drive innovative improvements that will reduce cost and increase efficiency without compromising product integrity.
- Reinforce compliance to the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) through internal audits and continuous improvement efforts that utilize quality science tools like Lean Six Sigma.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and providing effective communications to cross-functional teams
- Experience with Quality Management Systems auditing procedures and continuous improvement activities
- Experience in the identification, proactive monitoring of action items supporting of continuous improvement activities to drive Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), scrap and defect reductions
- Execution of First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements
- Proficiency using the Net-Inspect FAI software platform to manage execute and manage FAI activities
- Proficiency with M365 applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a desire to learn new software applications
- Familiarity with and proficiency using the PROMIS manufacturing execution system (MES)
- Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with others
- Ability to read and interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, component specifications, standards, and process sheets
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Supported production quality control (QC) and cross-functional teams (including process engineering) within an electronics manufacturing environment certified to AS9100
- Previous role in a Quality function governed by military and aerospace standards
- Execution of root cause/corrective action tools (8D, 5 Whys, Cause and effect, fault trees)
- Non-conformance identification, control and evaluation utilizing systems like Solumina, TipQA, DataView and Tableau
- Familiarity of APQP/AS9145 processes, including PFMEA and PPAP
- Certification demonstrating understanding and usage of quality sciences (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, CQE)
- Ability to extract data for visual presentations (using charts, tables, pareto analyses, etc.) to effectively communicate positions, issues or to drive actions
- Ability to apply, interpret and/or advise teams on quality, process documentation and workmanship requirements for product realization and inspection of components, assemblies and subassemblies.
- Ability to utilize various inspection tools such as Vernier's, microscopes, gauges, etc.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems activities including auditing and continuous improvement
- Identification, control and disposition of discrepant material with an understanding of Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB)
- Working Knowledge and understanding of military electronics standards like IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, or MIL-PRF-38534
- Familiarity with technology insertion within an electronics manufacturing environment using existing technologies like Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and/or developing innovative processes
- Support in cleanroom, ESD and FOD controlled areas
- Understanding of engineering drawing dimensions and tolerances (ANSI 14.5 GD&T)
- Familiarity with government contractor labor tracking using systems like AutoTime
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
