This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

The ideal candidate will leverage transformational leadership skills to lead our Quality Engineering and Quality System Specialist teams and drive innovative solutions into the Boeing Production System. The Quality Engineering teams support production by driving process improvements to eliminate escapes and defects, and by designing advanced inspection systems to ensure all products meet the highest Safety and Quality standards. Our Quality Engineering managers will lead the resolution of complex engineering and production challenges and will have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System.
Quality Engineers (QE) work to develop, maintain and assess the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the production processes and design. QEs are responsible for verifying our value stream is capable of meeting the engineering requirements and our processes produce quality products. As a QE manager, you will work closely with other engineering functions, manufacturing and support functions to ensure compliance to our regulators and contractual requirements, while continually improving our products and processes. The Statement of Work includes being a problem solving leader through analyzing defect data, performing analysis to support production changes, identifying and implementing improvements to quality and production processes and product designs, and leading cross-functional teams on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and defect reduction efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops processes, systems, and equipment that ensure the quality, reliability, and system safety of company or procured products and services.
- Provides quality system design and analysis review to validate the integrity of quality decisions that affect products and services.
- Analyzes contractual, product definition, and specification requirementsfor the development or modification of methods, procedures, and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained.
- Analyzes and provides material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts, and equipment.
- Performs scientific evaluations and analyses and processes audits.
- Tests and approves products, processes,equipment, and measurement systems.
- Ensures that resulting processes provide for configuration management.
- Participates in design and product reviews to ensure that producibility, inspectability, reliability,safety, Quality System integrity, and business process management objectives are met.
- Performs such research as benchmarking to industry standards; analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality.
- Performs root cause analyses.
- Recommends and supports the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate nonconformance to design specifications.
- Interfaces with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies toensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatoryrequirements.
- Develops and uses statistical methodologies to ensure thatspecified levels of safety, reliability, and process capability areachieved, maintained, or improved.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program
- 5+ years' experience in a Quality discipline
- Experience in Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
- Experience in Aerospace or a Manufacturing environment
- Functional Inspection experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively work multiple simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced, rapid change environment.
- Support multiple functions such as Assembly, Fabrication, and Supply Chain
- Root Cause and Correct Action (RCCA)
- Project management
- Computing - Microsoft Office applications.
- SAP experience

Summary Pay Range: $101,900 - $156,250
