Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our team located in Berkeley, MO!
This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Position Responsibilities:
Level 2
  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general supervision.

Level 3
  • Supports development activities and leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements related to Mission Systems and Avionics.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements and assists design engineers with technical reviews including configuration change proposals, preliminary / critical design reviews, First Article Inspections, and Qualification testing.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities and Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs).
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Leads and participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Initiate and implements corrective actions based on nonconformance trend analysis
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • 1+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • 1+ years of experience working with and supporting Quality Management System (QMS)
  • 1+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications (CQA);(CQE); (CQT)
  • Experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or systems engineering role
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)

Travel:
This position may require up to 15% of domestic/international travel.

Summary pay range: USD Level 2 (Associate) $83,300 - $112,700
Level 3 (Mid-Level) $100,300 - $135,700
