Position Summary

The Quality Control Associate evaluates and reports product conformance of supplier parts and components and finished products relative to established quality standards to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. This position takes ownership in their quality inspections, as well as the company’s quality metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand how to interpret drawings for needed inspection dimensions
  • Perform First Article Inspections with little supervision
  • Accurately and efficiently perform inspections on inbound supplies, product components and hardware at receiving with assistance as needed
  • Accurately and efficiently perform final inspections of completed products at production
  • Inspects in-process products for conformance to product specifications, as well as manufacturing and quality standards
  • Perform routine and ad hoc inspections in all manufacturing areas
  • Inspects supplier material to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Collects inspection data for files and reports
  • Ensure calibration of measurement equipment is current
  • Input data onto Quality Alert or other forms for identified non-conformances
  • Identify and document nonconforming material appropriately
  • Notifies Team Lead or Supervisor of any problems with procedures or equipment in order to maintain the highest degree of quality products, safety, inventory accuracy and productivity
  • Maintains a high awareness of personal safety at all times and maintains work areas in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement efforts of increased safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction through active cross functional communication.
  • Quality Commitment – Individually and as a team member support Sy-Klone’s mission statement and vision, with a daily focus on compliance to Sy-Klone systems, policies and procedures, supported by a continuous quality and process improvement mindset.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of operational experience; preferably within an ISO manufacturing environment a plus
  • Proficiency with basic office computer software and Microsoft 365 programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with basic handheld measuring tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, angle gages, height gages, etc.
  • Basic math and calculation abilities; high attention to detail.
  • Effectively use a variety of warehouse equipment and maintain work logs.
  • Must be able to read blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Performs work onsite to support production operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of work in an industrial warehouse environment including production lines, un-even walk areas, and motorized industrial equipment.
  • May be required to utilize ladders or work from heights on occasion. May need to utilize provided personal protective equipment including glasses, hearing protection, or respirator protection if required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, climb, stoop, bend, and conduct work at waist level.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs at times and 20lbs regularly.
  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulation and dexterity
