The Safety Coordinator is responsible for leading the site’s Quality Management System and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. This role oversees quality assurance processes, product inspection, document control, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting a strong culture of safety and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System, policies, procedures, and documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 and company standards.
- Manage quality inspection and product release activities for incoming, in-process, and finished goods.
- Establish quality standards, conduct audits, analyze data, and lead corrective and preventive actions.
- Supervise and train quality personnel; oversee departmental workflow and schedules.
- Evaluate supplier and product specifications to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Lead site EHS programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Administer required safety training, maintain compliance records, and coordinate reporting systems.
- Conduct safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain emergency response procedures, chemical inventories, SDS records, and environmental documentation.
- Lead safety committees and promote a proactive safety culture across the facility.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, environmental impact, and workplace safety.
- Collaborate with supervisors and departments to resolve quality or safety issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and compliance records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Associate degree in Quality, Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, and/or EHS compliance.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, root cause analysis, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Working knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and safety best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality or compliance tracking systems.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required. Ability to read and write reports, business correspondence, and customary business documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, clients and customers in small or large groups settings.
TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS: Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word; SyteLine or Sales Force software experience is beneficial.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze and interpret general business or financial reports, professional journals, or technical procedures furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Skills Required
