We’re looking for a Quality Assurance & Risk Oversight (QARO) Specialist. He/she will support the Head, QARO in ensuring operating effectiveness and design effectiveness of the key controls to mitigate KYC, ML, TF and Sanctions risks. He/she will help to run the QA program and assist in its effective implementation. Additionally, the candidate should be able to assist in analyzing the Quality Assurance processes and workflow to identify automation opportunities with tangible efficiency impact. Additionally, he/she needs to be comfortable engaging peers and Management, possess an innate desire to continuously raise the bar and be persistent in spearheading innovation when implementing the QA program. 

The day-to-day activities:

  • Assist in executing the QA program, which will encompass monitoring and testing reviews on financial crime, bank operations and customer support.
  • Plan and timely execute the on-going monitoring reviews including report preparation
  • Possess technical skills in Python, SQL, VBA to assist in designing possible automation of the Quality Assurance processes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and good understanding of industry trends and regulatory changes; leverage on data analytics and be a step ahead in spotting emerging risks so as to future-proof the bank against AML and Sanctions risks
  • Engage peers and stakeholders to identify QA process improvement opportunities

The must haves:

  • Experienced and passionate risk, controls and assurance expert in the financial services sector, with know-how in monitoring and assurance testing work
  • Experience in designing and implementing Quality Assurance process design with a high level of automation through ML/AI solutions; Background in SQL, Python (coding), VBA is necessary
  • Strong ability to use either Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to analyze by creating pivot tables, review data sets, implement complex searches, and provide analytical recommendations based on the information gathered.
  • Prior exposure to bank processes would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with Retail/Corporates/Small & Medium Enterprises segments, Lending Business/ Credit Operations is preferred
  • Knowledge of MAS regulations on AML/CFT/Sanctions would be advantageous
  • Ability to identify process improvements, and partner with product and engineering teams to transform business ideas into technology solution
  • Builder mindset, proactive, can-do attitude; able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Possess strong execution skills and the ability to react to change who can work and thrive well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to exercise influence and convince stakeholders to accept or adopt new ideas, practices and approaches
  • Fresh graduates with basic coding capabilities and prior bank internship experience may apply
