Quality Assurance (QA) is a team of Operations Professionals, part of the Financial Crime Services (FCS) team in Chief Operations Office (COO). The team is accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime operations shared service. Financial Crime Operations leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of the following operational services AML, CTF, KYC, Sanctions, ECDD etc.
You will be part of the Quality Assurance team in Financial Crime Operations (FCO) with focus on ensuring strong operational cadences with a strong quality and compliance focus on outcomes with efficiency in the way that we disrupt financial crime.
Quality Assurance footprint spans Australia and India.
DO WORK THAT MATTERS
As a Quality Assurance Point of Reference, you will contribute to the Group’s AML/CTF obligations with respect to the Group’s Part A and Part B Programme and FATCA/CRS requirements. This role will require you to execute on the improvement and implementation of key initiatives across our Quality Assurance Operations footprint. This will include working with the overall business to uplift quality, provide subject matter expertise, assist in delivering on strategic projects and play a key role in continuous improvement to support the group in managing its financial crime obligations. This will require high attention to detail and accuracy to ensure quality outcomes to our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing and Sanctions legal and regulatory obligations of the Group as they apply to your role.
- Actively contribute to the Group’s goal of NPS+30 in 3 years by prioritising our customers and their lived experience above all else.
- Undertake all activities in line with the Group's values and prescribed methodologies, strategies and policies.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of end-to-end business processes by actioning all tasks in accordance with Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Demonstrate consistent due diligence when performing peer review of all cases and capturing findings and decisions within the Group's Case Management Systems and escalation reports.
- Stay abreast of financial crime and security related trends and emerging issues, proactively identifying, understanding and acting on and/or escalating current and future risks to the Group.
- Understand and proactively identify, report and escalate incidents, issues and risks within Group timeframes.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
- Accurately record customer interactions, findings and decisions within the appropriate Group systems in a concise and timely manner.
- Other tasks relating to the management of financial crime processes as directed by your manager.
You will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
ON ANY GIVEN DAY YOU WILL
- Supervise and support workloads of a team of approx. 10 ECDD QA analysts. This includes oversight over their performance, and compliance in line with regulation and internal policies, procedures and risk and compliance frameworks.
- Deep understanding of financial crime typologies, controls, and regulatory obligations across AML/CTF & Sanctions to be First point of contact within your team(s) to train and coach your peers on all technical aspects
- Provide day-to-day guidance to QA analysts on complex or unclear cases to support consistent interpretation and application of QA frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Monitor and conduct root cause analysis on team performance and quality outcomes, ensuring alignment with quality standards and regulatory expectations whilst identifying and escalating systemic quality issues, trends, or control gaps.
- Support calibration sessions and feedback loops to ensure consistent decision-making whilst driving monthly calibration and governance sessions; co-ordinating action plans based on themes identified from data analysis; reviewing and responding to correspondence from the Operations teams.
- Contribute and hold training programs and knowledge sharing initiatives for the teams, staying updated on changes in policy, regulation, emerging risks, and insights
- Conduct quality checks on alerts to ensure adherence to internal standards, procedures, regulatory requirements and to ensure you are investing in your own subject knowledge to remain up to date
- Effective WIP management that ensures optimal workflow by prioritising daily workloads allocating and based on risk urgency and available capacity
- Support audits, assurance review and regulatory requests where required

- Maintain an operating rhythm with Operational teams to provide insights and trends as well as understand root cause of systemic quality issues.
- Responsible for updating the Standard Operating Procedures and User guides across Quality Assurance, which are compliant, and in line with the Group Policy whilst also contributing to any enhancement opportunities of the business streams documents.
- Assist with the execution of CAP testing and provide technical expertise to document control failure points with your manager.
- Proactively identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) by using productivity tools to drive increased quality, process simplification or increased efficiency.
