Position Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the Quality Assurance Manager develops, coordinates, and manages the quality assurance function, to include the inspecting of materials and products, ensuring compliance with all ISO 9001 quality standards, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

· Develop, establish, and implement quality procedures and specifications. Develop, establish, and implement the testing procedures and standards for raw material, in-process and finished products.

· Develop procedures ensuring production of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards. Oversee the work-in-process and final inspection activities.

· With the use of the quality management software, investigate and track all quality related problems. Initiate and recommend action plans to resolve quality problems.

· Oversee the receiving function, ensuring incoming materials, parts, components, etc. meet quality standards and specifications.

· Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the quality assurance and receiving staff to ensure the development of quality systems, policies and procedures.

· Identify and recommend cost reductions and/or changes in processes to improve productivity and quality.

· Monitor, evaluate and develop quality programs with vendors to ensure the level of quality of materials, parts, components, etc. Address and resolve vendor issues.

· Schedule and plan service calls.

· Ensure departmental compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Promote affirmative action and equal employment opportunity.

· Act as a technical resource to customers to address and resolve quality related inquiries and problems. Review all complaints received from customers to determine corrective action.

· Develop agendas for and hold quality meetings.

· Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry.

· Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques.

· Ensure completion of all required records, paperwork, documents, etc.

· Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · Requires a bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of related experience; or an associate degree or two years of college and eight to ten years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. 

· Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent. 

· Proficiency in Excel, Word, Visio and experience with ERP, CRM and QMS.

· Lean/Six Sigma knowledge and experience preferred.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

· Requires a valid driver’s license

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Skills Required
