We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety of our cannabis products and processes. Your expertise will drive the establishment of stringent production standards and testing procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmacology, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in Food/Beverage, Pharmaceutical manufacturing, or other highly regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of food chemistry and microbiology
  • Familiarity with food safety systems like HACCP and SQF
  • Experience with laboratory techniques
  • Knowledge of FDA, DCC, and DCR regulations
  • Formulation knowledge and experience (preferred)

  • Ensuring product and process quality through rigorous standards and testing
  • Safeguarding health and safety while protecting brand reputation
  • Providing strong leadership and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting expansion opportunities and remote facilities as a liaison
  • Developing comprehensive quality control structures
  • Successfully bringing products to market, including required testing and planning

Your RoleSupplier Quality Management

  • Verify compliance of third-party manufacturers
  • Maintain vendor relationships and proper certifications

QMS Architecture and Internal Process Controls

  • Develop processes compliant with regulatory standards (DCC, DCR) and 21 CFR 110
  • Develop Quality Management System (QMS) and product testing processes
  • Maintain and update Document Management System (DMS)
  • Promote awareness and training
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and records for facilities, sanitation, and production
  • Oversee internal auditing program and support external inspections
  • Track, analyze, and action quality Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
  • Implement Environmental Microbiological Monitoring (EMM)

Continual Improvement

  • Lead improvement initiatives in collaboration with management
  • Investigate and resolve product issues
  • Evaluate and augment analyses of ingredients and finished products

Product Quality Assurance

  • Develop production processes and quality control standards for new products
  • Create detailed product specifications
  • Conduct shelf-life studies
  • Perform risk analysis on new and existing products
  • Identify Critical Control Points (CCP) and update HACCP program
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
