Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Lighting & Controls division in Richardson, TX.
The Quality Assurance Engineer will plan and execute activities associated with the development, application and 
maintenance of quality and regulatory standards for industrial processes, materials, products, and external suppliers. This will include the development of control plans and supporting FMEAs, controlling a Material Review Board (MRB) process, process conformance auditing required by ISO 9001:2015, and regulatory agency reporting.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do? 
• Support continuous improvement activities that enhance internal quality systems and processes. 
• Support Engineering and Operations departments to ensure transfer to production of new products are in 
accordance with approved data. 
• Manage MRB function (material review board) and help build current practices for Control of Nonconforming Goods in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal documented procedures, while ensuring that cost of quality for scrap and rework are thoroughly captured so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken to drive associated costs down. 
• Support Quality Control CAPA Database including timely and accurate completion and follow-up of outstanding 
quality concerns. 
• Assist in executing internal audits and ensuring closure of resulting corrective actions. 
• Implement proactive quality processes, procedures, assembly processes and poka yokes that improve overall 
product quality. 
• Audit previously initiated corrective actions to ensure continued compliance. 
• Assist in quality training as needed. 
• Assist with calibration program. 
• Ensure products are compliant with regulatory agency requirements (UL, TUV, ETL, FCC, IEC, ISO). 
• Support quality control to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. 
• Responsible for planning and organizing control plans with associated FMEAs. 
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions. 
• Support the preparation of QA reports. 
• Additional duties to be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills 

Education: 
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field preferred. 
• Four to seven years of prior quality control experience with proven implementation of quality systems and tools. 
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing operation required. 
• Strong computer skills including experience using database and spreadsheet programs. 
• Experience with an enterprise resource planning program. 
• Flexibility for minimal travel nationally and internationally(~10%). 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 
• Knowledge of 3rd angle geometric drawings interpreting datums, GDT and customer specifics as required. 
• Knowledge of quality principles including 5S, Kaizen, Lean Methods. 
• Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and procedures. 
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective 
manufacture and distribution of goods. 
• Knowledge of regulatory agency reporting (e.g. UL 2108, etc.) 
• Complex Problem Solving skills – identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate option and implement solutions. 
• Judgment and Decision Making skills – considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. 
• Critical Thinking skills – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems. 
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills – ability to communication information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand. 
• Able to manage multiple projects. 
• Able to meet agreed upon completion dates. 
• Able to motivate team members within a cross functional team. 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirement: 
• The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under 
certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required. 
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. 
• Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
