About Peekapak

Peekapak is an award-winning education technology company that helps K–12 schools build student wellbeing, empathy, and resilience through story-based learning, educator tools, and data-informed insights.

Our platform has reached over 1 million educators and students globally, and we partner with schools, districts, and government entities across North America and the Middle East.

Peekapak is backed by Imagine K12, the education-focused accelerator of Y Combinator.

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced QA Analyst to own and elevate quality assurance across our platform as we scale globally.

This is a full-time role, ideal for a QA professional based outside North America who is comfortable working with distributed teams and modern development workflows.

You will work closely with our CTO, Clinton Chau, and engineering team to ensure product reliability, performance, and usability across student-, teacher-, and administrator-facing experiences.

What You’ll Do

Quality Ownership & Testing

  • Own the end-to-end QA process across new feature development and production releases
  • Perform manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing
  • Design, write, and maintain automated UI regression tests
  • Validate fixes and ensure defects do not regress in future releases
  • Test web applications used by tens of thousands of students and educators worldwide

Process & Infrastructure

  • Strengthen QA workflows within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Help define and document QA standards, test plans, and release criteria
  • Improve test coverage, test data strategies, and reproducibility
  • Collaborate with developers on testability and defect prevention

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Participate in sprint planning, and reviews
  • Communicate defects clearly with reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and impact
  • Support internal teams when investigating production issues
  • Play a key QA leadership role in the launch of new product lines (including secondary/high-school products)

Our Technology Stack

  • Backend: AWS Lambda
  • Frontend: ReactJS (ES2015+)
  • Infrastructure: AWS (including DynamoDB)
  • Version Control: GitHub
  • Project Management: Jira
  • Methodology: Agile / Scrum

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years of professional QA experience (web applications)
  • Strong manual testing skills with a structured, analytical approach
  • Experience writing or maintaining automated UI tests
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile development
  • Proficiency in Javascript and Typescript
  • Experience with Git-based workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, async-friendly environment
  • Comfortable working in UAE time zone, and some North American mornings

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with SQL-based databases (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB)
  • AWS experience
  • Prior experience in EdTech, SaaS, or consumer-facing platforms

Who You Are

  • You take pride in product quality and user experience
  • You are proactive, reliable, and detail-driven
  • You communicate clearly and respectfully across time zones
  • You’re comfortable raising risks early and advocating for quality
  • You enjoy improving systems, not just testing features

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive full-time salary, based on experience and location
  • Fully remote, globally distributed team
  • Flexible working hours (with some overlap with UAE and North American time zones)
  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with senior technical leadership
  • Learning & professional growth opportunities
  • Purpose-driven work with real-world impact in education and wellbeing

Equal Opportunity

Peekapak is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive, respectful workplace.
