Job Summary
The QA Analyst, Lead is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data integrations, data warehouse solutions, and analytics platforms. This role works closely with Data Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Data Analysts, Business Analysts, Database Administrators, and business stakeholders to validate data pipelines, ETL processes, API integrations, reporting datasets, and downstream analytics solutions.
The QA Analyst, Lead leads the planning, design, execution, and testing activities across data integration initiatives. The role is responsible for creating comprehensive test strategies, validating source-to-target mappings, performing data reconciliation, identifying defects, and ensuring enterprise data quality standards are met before deployment to production.
Functions & Job Responsibilities
- Partner with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Application Development, Product Management, and business stakeholders to define testing approaches and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data integration and ETL solutions.
- Create reusable test frameworks and testing standards for data integration projects.
- Validate source-to-target data mappings, transformation rules, business logic, and data quality requirements according to business requirements for internal and external processes.
- Validate incremental loads, full refresh processes, data archival processes, and exception handling.
- Conduct regression testing following application releases, infrastructure upgrades, and data model changes.
- Perform data reconciliation and data validation between source systems, vendor partners, data warehouses, data marts, and reporting platforms.
- Validate batch processing, file transfers, API integrations, and real-time data interfaces.
- Analyze and troubleshoot data discrepancies, defects, and production issues.
- Conduct end-to-end testing across multiple systems and applications to ensure data consistency and integrity, including coordination with external vendor technical teams.
- Identify bottlenecks in large-volume data processing.
- Perform dimensional model validation, fact and dimension testing, and historical data verification.
- Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, increase test coverage, and reduce manual testing effort.
- Participate in CI/CD and release management processes to support efficient deployments.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data quality metrics and monitoring capabilities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Mentor junior QA analysts and contribute to the growth of QA best practices within the Data Services organization.
- Support production validation activities and post-deployment verification.

QualificationsQualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum four (4) years of Quality Assurance experience with enterprise data integration, data warehousing, ETL, or analytics platforms.
- Minimum two (2) years of hands-on data validation and ETL testing experience.
- Experience testing large-scale databases and data warehouse environments.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with a range of business areas related to healthcare (e.g., medical management, utilization management, claims management, transaction services, network operations, RAF and coding, marketing, accounting, finance) preferred.
Skills:
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to create complex validation and reconciliation queries.
- Experience validating ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of relational databases and dimensional data modeling concepts.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with API testing, file validation, and integration testing methodologies.
- Familiarity developing automated testing scripts using SQL, Python, or other automation technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with AWS data services, SQL Server, SSIS, QuickSight, Power BI, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Experience testing healthcare data feeds including CMS, EDI X12, FHIR, HL7, claims, membership, provider, and encounter data.
- Understanding of healthcare data domains such as claims, eligibility, providers, encounters, authorizations, pharmacy, risk adjustment, CMS and NCQA is highly desirable.
