JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Quality and HSE manager is responsible to implement, audit and support JAS Compliance to ISO Quality Management, Environmental, Health and Safety Standards through application of ISO Quality Management principles (QMP).This position works closely with local, regional and worldwide stakeholders to promote Consistent and predictable outcomes through a system of aligned processes in order to facilitate reaching and exceeding compliance targets related to the business rules and requirements of JAS Worldwide and its clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Management of the subsidiary including but not limited to operations and administration to insure that Company goals and objectives are met
- Develop the country objectives, strategies, policies and operating plans of the business
- Directs and implements short- and long-term strategic plans for the Country to ensure successful revenue, productivity, and profitability levels
- Establishes criteria to measure short- and long-term growth and profitability and regularly evaluates against these performance standards
- To work with Regional management to drive and develop operating effectiveness and increases in revenue and profit consistent with annual target (budget).
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and ISO procedures
- Ensure that corporate policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered by subordinates.
- Responsible for hiring, firing and performance evaluations of branch staff
- Ongoing coaching and development of staff skills
- Maintain highest standard of customer service for both internal and external customers
- Foster an attitude of teamwork
- Other duties and tasks as required or requested
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will not directly or indirectly supervise employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent level of communication, comfortable to use tools such as Skype, ZOOM, BT Conferencing, FaceTime and others.
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as Business Cases, Project Plans, Business Requirements, User Guides, Training Manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar / pie graphs.
- Ability to learn quickly
- Strong Organizational skills – Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and execute on assigned deliverables.
- Facilitation skills - emphasis on coordinating relationships with internal functions/groups; ability to solve issues by coordinating across cross-functional areas.
- Sound judgment and the ability to work under time pressures.
- Able to manage outcomes to timeline.

- Ability to train and develop CPOs, Quality Representatives, BPM Specialists, Champions and end users to a high level of proficiency
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree in Business Administration, International Logistics, or equivalent of education is highly preferred.
- Project Management Business Analysis experience is an advantage
- Must have 5+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding
- Excellent understanding of ISO Manual, Rules and Procedures
- Good understanding of Business Process Improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, DMAIC and/or other concepts.
Must be comfortable with communication tools such as Skype, ZOOM, BT Conferencing, FaceTime and others.
- Experience on MS Visio and/or other process mapping tools is a plus
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to __ %) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
