Quality Analyst with Akeneo

Role Details

We are looking for a technical Data QA Analyst to manage the data migration for a new Akeneo PIM implementation.

This role is strictly focused on Backend Data Integrity. You will validate the end-to-end flow of product data from legacy systems (ERP & Cloudinary) into Akeneo, and verify the export schema into Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).

Key Responsibilities

1. Inbound Data Validation (ERP & Cloudinary -> PIM)

• * ERP Data Ingestion: Validate that raw product data (CSVs/Excel) extracted from the ERP is correctly normalized and loaded into Akeneo.

• * Check: Identify truncation issues, character encoding errors, or data type mismatches (e.g., ensuring numeric fields don't contain text).

• * Asset Mapping (Cloudinary): Verify that digital assets (Images, PDFs) from Cloudinary are correctly linked to SKUs in Akeneo via the API/Connector.

• * Completeness Rules: Test Akeneo "Families" to ensure data validation rules function correctly (e.g., products should not be marked "Complete" if missing a required ERP attribute).

2. Akeneo System Configuration

• * Schema Verification: Verify that Attributes, Categories, and Option Lists in Akeneo match the approved Data Dictionary.

• * Data Governance: Conduct specialized testing to ensure that "Read Only" fields (synced from ERP) cannot be edited by PIM users, while "Enrichment" fields function as expected.

3. Outbound Data Validation (PIM -> SFCC)

• * XML Schema Validation: Inspect the XML files generated by the Akeneo Connector before they are ingested by SFCC.

• * Goal: Ensure the structure matches the SFCC catalog.xsd schema.

• * Transformation Logic: Verify that the backend transformation scripts (written by the Developer) are correctly formatting data during the export.

• * Example: Stripping HTML tags from descriptions or converting "Blue" (Akeneo Text) to color-blue (SFCC Enum ID).

• * Job Monitoring: Monitor the "Import Catalog" process chains in SFCC Business Manager to confirm imports finish without error logs or skipped records.

Required Skills & Experience

• * Backend Testing: Strong experience validating data migration and ETL processes.

• * XML/JSON Literacy: Comfortable opening large XML files to trace a specific SKU’s data structure.

• * PIM Experience: Experience with Akeneo (preferred), Salsify, or similar PIM systems.

• * SFCC Knowledge: Familiarity with SFCC Business Manager (specifically the Site Development > Operations module for checking logs).

• * Defect Triage: Ability to distinguish between "Source Data Errors" (Client needs to fix the CSV) vs. "Transformation Bugs" (Developer needs to fix the code).
