DESCRIPTION
The QHSE Coordinator is responsible for working alongside and providing administrative support to the QHSE Director, Superintendents, and senior management within a fast-paced environment of both Opla Energy and Citadel Drilling. Preference will be given to applicants located and working out of Houston TX.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION
- All relevant Safety Courses.
- 3+ years of relevant experience or field experience.
- Excellent attention to detail skills and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good knowledge of IT systems with an excellent knowledge and understanding of MS Word, Excel, outlook, and PowerPoint
- A positive, flexible and pro-active approach to work
- A willingness, self-motivation, and ability to learn new skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply)
- Perform a wide range of administrative duties including filing, photocopying and maintaining Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Deal with sensitive and confidential information
- Chairperson for the QHSE meetings including documenting and distributing the agenda and minutes.
- Complete and monitor the return of various QHSE reports, assisting management to ensure all actions are completed on time and reminders issued for those outstanding.
- Draft correspondence to include creating, revising, proof-reading and distributing various types of documents, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports (safety alerts/safety bulletins).
- Assist in the investigation of issues related to QHSE and implement corrective actions.
- Carry out all other tasks as requested.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Opla and Citadel.
- Conduct facility inspections (shops and offices).
- Support operational personnel with the development of our formal hazard assessment systems and the management of JSA’s on ITRAK.
- Support QHSE Director and operational personnel with the creation, upload, and management of the regulatory compliance inspections and safety programs forms, administrated under the safety compliance tool ITRAK
- Assist the QHSE Director with managing required paperwork/appointments and follow up for the modified work program and claims management as applicable.
- Maintenance of ISN (Canadian and US account).
- Monitor Work Alone and Journey Management app data.
- Supporting QHSE Director conducting OSHA/OHS AB regulatory training audits – Ensuring local regulatory compliance is in place.
- Support the creation of safety and operations procedures and updating information within safety libraries.
- Work with the HR department to ensure training meets regulatory and company compliance
- Participate in onboarding new hires on Opla and Citadel policies and procedures as required.
- Work on special projects such as compliance audits, under the QHSE Director’s guidance.
