The QC Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating day-to-day quality control activities within an industrial warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment. This position performs inspections while also providing a higher level of support through quality documentation, nonconformance tracking, inspection coordination, and communication with operations and other departments.

The QC Coordinator serves as a resource for QC Inspectors and operations employees to help ensure products, materials, and processes meet company, customer, and applicable industry quality requirements.

Responsibilities/ Qualifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and other required inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished materials or products.
  • Coordinate daily inspection priorities based on production, shipping, receiving, and operational needs.
  • Review inspection results and quality documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements.
  • Assist QC Inspectors with inspection requirements, documentation, procedures, and quality-related questions.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials or products.
  • Coordinate the segregation, identification, and disposition process for nonconforming material.
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, certifications, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with investigating quality issues, discrepancies, customer concerns, and recurring nonconformances.
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection results to operations, warehouse, production, and management teams.
  • Verify that required measuring and inspection equipment is available, properly maintained, and within calibration requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining calibration records and coordinating equipment calibration as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering records, documentation, and other requested information.
  • Monitor compliance with established quality procedures and escalate recurring or significant quality concerns to management.
  • Assist with training employees on inspection procedures, documentation requirements, and quality standards.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, documentation, accuracy, and overall product quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety and quality policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or related certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of quality control, inspection, manufacturing, fabrication, industrial distribution, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience performing industrial product or material inspections required.
  • Working knowledge of quality control practices, inspection processes, and nonconformance procedures.
  • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, or similar tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, work instructions, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple inspection priorities.
  • Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally across departments.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to work independently while providing day-to-day guidance and support to QC Inspectors.
  • Experience with ERP, quality management, or inventory systems preferred.
