What is the plot?
As part of the QA team, you won’t just validate critical components powering streaming for millions users - you’ll help shape a robust, innovative testing framework that leaves no room for issues to slip through. Quality is deeply embedded in our culture, and your voice matters. You’ll be fully integrated into the development lifecycle, driving excellence from day one.
What role will you play?
As a QA Tester, you’ll be part of a team ensuring code and feature quality through thorough testing and collaboration. You’ll analyze requirements, execute test cases, report results, and support issue resolution. Your role includes pre- and post-release testing, estimating efforts, and performing a wide range of testing types while becoming a subject matter expert on the project.
Your daily tasks:
Be part of the QA team responsible for ensuring code and feature quality.
Collaborate with engineers to develop effective test plans and strategies.
Execute test cases (manual or automated) and report results clearly, accurately, and promptly.
Assist in troubleshooting issues and provide debugging support using application and network logs.
Report issues and errors to development and product owner teams, and support them throughout their lifecycle.
Perform static analysis of user stories and requirements, and communicate any ambiguities or anomalies to stakeholders.
Create test documentation artifacts and conduct test phases according to the plan.
Conduct pre-release (regression) and post-release testing.
Be proactive and willing to take on responsibility.
Estimate testing efforts with reasonable accuracy, including contingencies.
Pair with other engineers and upskill to become a subject matter expert on the project.
Perform various types of testing, including component, functional, front-end and back-end, exploratory, sanity, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Research and effectively utilize test tools, methodologies, and trends to contribute to the evolution of existing practices and processes.
What skills do you need to play your role well?
Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
Attention to detail, an analytical mind, and problem-solving aptitude.
Experience as a QA tester in a rapid development team.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and applying testing methodology to day-to-day tasks.
Experience using test management and issue logging tools such as JIRA, GitHub, and Zephyr.
Knowledge of Charles/Fiddler or other proxy tools.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze application/network logs.
Knowledge of API testing and an understanding of underpinning technologies (XML/JSON/REST/SOAP).
Understanding of version control (preferably with Git/GitHub) and PR standards.
Previous experience in scripting and/or programming is an advantage.
Understanding of media streaming technologies is an advantage, including major streaming protocols (e.g., DASH/HLS) and digital rights management (DRM) solutions such as WideVine and FairPlay.
