Responsibilities
- Partner closely with developers, game designers, and producers to define quality standards for upcoming features, acting as a proactive quality consultant rather than a passive gatekeeper.
- Take full end-to-end ownership of a feature’s lifecycle, managing everything from the initial bug report through final sign-off and providing clear, actionable insights to support product decisions.
- Plan, create, and execute comprehensive test plans that cover not only happy paths, but also edge cases, technical dependencies, and potential player misuse scenarios.
- Evaluate bugs critically based on business priorities and player impact, determining which issues must be addressed before release and which can be deferred to the backlog.
- Actively support the game’s release pipeline and monitor post-release stability using tools such as Crashlytics to identify, reproduce, and report live issues.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize QA pipelines and workflows, helping refine processes and advocating for QA best practices across the IBT team.
Required Skills
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to thrive in highly cross-functional environments, provide clear feedback, and proactively seek support when needed.
- Proven experience in software testing (ideally in mobile games) with the ability to work autonomously and identify root causes of defects and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to create structured, logical test plans based on feature requirements and user stories, rather than simply executing predefined test cases.
- A quality-driven mindset that goes beyond bug discovery, with a strong understanding of business priority and severity and the ability to clearly articulate player and project impact.
- Solid experience working in Scrum/Agile environments and with project management tools such as Jira; familiarity with XRAY or similar test management tools is a strong plus.
- A thorough understanding of testing methodologies (functional, non-functional, sanity, regression, and exploratory), along with the judgment to apply them effectively in the right contexts.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with Unity.
- Previous work on mobile titles, with an understanding of mobile-specific challenges.
- Familiarity with third-party SDKs and experience reading and analyzing logs (e.g., Firebase, Crashlytics).
- A proactive approach to continuous learning and professional growth.
