Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join our team! You will lead the effort to fully test and verify hybrid solutions for our growing cyber solutions line of business. You will define the verification and validation approach, develop test plans and procedures, and guide the execution and evaluation process to create complete solutions for our customers.
This is a hands-on role on a mission-critical program. Your work directly contributes to matters of national security. You will help the team evolve a TRL-5 prototype system into a TRL-8 product in support of a classified customer pilot deployment.
What You'll Be Doing- Define test strategies, test plans, and test procedures for system capabilities in line with customer and program priorities
- Review requirements, specifications, and design documents to ensure testability and coverage in support of the concept of operations
- Develop test scenarios and traceability to functional and technical requirements
- Determine appropriate testing methods, including manual, automated, integration, regression, and performance testing where applicable
- Identify required test environments, data, tools, and dependencies for a scalable, reliable, and repeatable framework
- Establish and enforce appropriate design-for-testability policies and practices into the development process
- Coordinate test personnel and schedules to ensure test procedures are understood, executed, and captured as QA artifacts
- Support defect triage, root cause discussions, planning for fixes, and continuous process improvement
- Contribute to release readiness assessments and quality reviews
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and relevant experience in software testing, systems testing, or quality engineering; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- 8+ years’ experience writing test strategies, plans, procedures, scenarios, and reports, with a focus on networking protocols, services, and encapsulation techniques
- Understanding of software testing types and methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into structured testing approaches
- Experience collaborating with engineers, developers, and technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- An Active Topsecret Clearance is required for this position
- Experience with Agile software development environments
- Experience with test management, defect tracking, and requirements traceability tools
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and API testing tools, to include hybrid on-premises and cloud environments
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Experience with CI/CD or build pipeline tools and integrated testing tools
- Familiarity with microservices, cloud environments, or service-based architectures
