Position Summary

The QA/QC and Safety Manager administers and directs the organization’s safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Operating with a high degree of independent judgment and discretion, this role evaluates workplace risks, interprets applicable regulations, and develops policies, procedures, and initiatives that support a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment. The position is responsible for conducting risk assessments, leading incident investigations, and determining appropriate corrective or preventive actions to mitigate hazards and improve operational practices.

The QA/QC and Safety Manager independently plans and conducts safety audits, inspections, and program evaluations, recommending and implementing improvements that strengthen the organization’s safety culture and quality standards. This role provides guidance to leadership and operational teams on safety and compliance matters, interprets regulatory requirements, and advises on policy and procedural changes that reduce risk and support organizational compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Implement and manage the company’s safety programs and policies, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Applies independent discretion to make program adjustments as business need arises.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards, across office locations and project sites.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to promote employee awareness, understanding, and adherence to safe work practices and company safety procedures.
  • Lead regular jobsite inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and administer and document corrective actions in accordance with company policies and established disciplinary procedures. Administer independent judgement in investigating employee adherence to safety protocols and varying job site requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures while communicating findings to leadership and corporate safety personnel.
  • Oversee the implementation of emergency response plans and ensure employees are trained and prepared to respond to potential emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with operations, project managers, and supervisors to integrate safety practices into daily jobsite activities and project planning.
  • Develop and maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting, including incident reports, training records, inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture by communicating expectations, encouraging accountability, and engaging employees in proactive safety practices.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC):

  • Design quality assurance and quality control programs for exterior construction and restoration projects, ensuring all work meets design specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project QA/QC plans, including inspection protocols, mockups, and checklists, in coordination with Project Manager–Estimators and field teams.
  • Lead preconstruction and field reviews, ensuring accurate installation details while directing crews and leading carpenters to achieve full compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Evaluate and Monitor project performance for quality compliance, including regular inspections, audits, and testing, and coordinate corrective actions to address deficiencies or nonconformances.
  • Conduct regular reviews and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including inspection reports, punch lists, test results, and QA/QC records, ensuring timely submission to leadership and clients.
  • Manage warranty and post-construction quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up to maintain client satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor field and QA personnel, providing training, technical guidance, and feedback to foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance – Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards, with the ability to interpret requirements, implement compliant safety programs, and ensure adherence across multiple job sites.
  • Leadership & Influence – Acts as a trusted strategic advisor to leadership by building trust and credibility while promoting a proactive safety culture. Effectively leads safe work practices and accountability at all organizational levels.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in safety management and policy implementation. 
  • Preferred Certifications 
  • OSHA 510
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate and current annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher
  •  49 CFR DOT HM-126F 
  • CHST – Construction Health and Safety Technician
  • IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT) preferred for restoration operations
  •  CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Comfortable using the internet for research and information gathering.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s license in good standing without restrictions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk active project sites and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb while conducting audits and site observations.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle. 
  • Ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments. 
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and varying weather conditions. 
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
