About Doodle Labs

Doodle Labs is a fast-growing technology company building high-performance wireless communications for the drone and unmanned systems ecosystem. Our technology enables reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity across airborne and mobile robotic platforms operating in complex environments.

We partner directly with leading drone OEMs, robotics companies, and defense organizations to deliver advanced networking solutions that power the next generation of autonomous systems. Our mission is to make connectivity for autonomous machines as reliable and ubiquitous as the internet itself.

About the Role

The QA Manager will lead the development and implementation of Doodle Labs’ company-wide quality management strategy. This role is responsible for architecting scalable quality processes that support rapid product development while maintaining reliability, compliance, and customer trust.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering, operations, NPI, contract manufacturers, and customer support teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle—from design and development to manufacturing and field performance. You will also build and lead the QA organization, implement structured quality processes, and provide leadership visibility into quality metrics and improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement a scalable Quality Management System (QMS) to support product development, manufacturing, and customer support operations
  • Conduct audits of existing QA practices across hardware, software, NPI, contract manufacturing, and customer support functions
  • Establish quality governance frameworks, including documented procedures, escalation protocols, and audit cadences
  • Define and track quality KPIs and metrics to monitor product reliability and operational performance
  • Build and lead a high-performing QA team, including defining roles, performance metrics, and development plans
  • Implement structured CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes to address product defects and systemic quality issues
  • Analyze RMA and field failure data to identify root causes and drive cross-functional corrective actions
  • Establish quality oversight processes with contract manufacturers to improve first-pass yield and production quality
  • Implement structured software quality and release governance processes integrated with the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with engineering and NPI teams to embed quality processes early in product design and development
  • Provide regular quality dashboards and reporting to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate and prepare the organization for quality certifications and compliance frameworks, such as ISO9001 or relevant defense standards

What Success Looks Like

  • A fully implemented Quality Management System supporting global engineering and operations teams
  • Reduced RMA rates and field quality escapes through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Improved manufacturing quality and first-pass yield at contract manufacturing partners
  • Structured quality processes embedded into both hardware and software development workflows
  • Clear visibility into quality metrics through dashboards, reporting, and executive updates
  • A strong QA organization with defined ownership, processes, and measurable performance improvements
  • Organizational readiness for future quality certifications and compliance requirements

Who You Are

  • Extensive experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, or quality management in a hardware or technology-driven organization
  • Proven experience building or scaling Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Strong understanding of hardware product development, manufacturing quality processes, and supply chain quality management
  • Experience implementing structured processes such as CAPA, root cause analysis, and audit frameworks
  • Ability to analyze product and field data to identify quality trends and drive corrective actions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and product teams
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present quality insights and recommendations to executive leadership

Why Join Doodle Labs

  • Work on cutting-edge technology powering the future of autonomous systems
  • Collaborate with engineers and innovators building industry-leading connectivity solutions
  • Opportunity to build and scale a global quality organization from the ground up
  • Make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing company shaping the next generation of robotics and wireless networking
