Location: In-office — Corvus Robotics HQ, Mountain View, CA (this is not a remote or hybrid role)
Department: Manufacturing and Operations
Employment Type: Full-time
About CorvusEvery physical good spends time in a warehouse, and every warehouse tracks their inventory. Today, nearly 100% of warehouses track their inventory manually using barcode scanners and climbing forklifts.
We're Corvus Robotics. Our fully autonomous Corvus One® drones use computer vision & robotics to automatically track inventory, improving worker safety and increasing labor efficiency. We believe that data-driven, safe inventory management will optimize the global physical economy and improve economic prosperity for humanity.
What we're seekingWe are looking for a hands-on QA Manager to own the quality, configuration, and shipout of every hardware unit we manufacture. This role sits at the center of production — testing devices, debugging issues on the floor, building and maintaining test scripts and test hardware, and making sure every unit that leaves the facility meets the high bar we set for our products. You will work closely with technicians, the engineering team, and operations to keep production moving without ever compromising on quality.
Specifically, in this role you will:Configure manufactured devices for deployment, ensuring settings, firmware, and calibration are correct for each unit.
Test manufactured hardware devices to verify they meet functional and quality specifications before shipment.
Debug hardware and firmware issues identified during testing, collaborating with technicians and the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and work through root cause to resolution.
Develop and maintain automated and manual test scripts to improve coverage, repeatability, and speed of the QA process.
Design and build test hardware/fixtures (jigs, harnesses, bench setups) to support efficient, reliable testing.
Manage the shipout process end-to-end, working with manufacturing technicians to prepare, package, document, and dispatch units correctly and on schedule.
Serve as the last line of defense on quality — ensuring every client receives best-in-class hardware.
Test returned devices and create repair plans for the refurbishment of devices.
Track and report on defect trends, test results, and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
2-3 years of experience directly working on hardware — designing, testing, debugging, assembly, or integration.
Hands-on experience with robotics hardware specifically — sensors, actuators, controllers, or full robotic systems.
Familiarity with software engineering tools such as Git, and AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to collaborate closely and effectively with technicians, the engineering team, and operations teams to keep production moving.
Prior experience working at a small startup, comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.
Experience working in teams competing in technical competitions such as FIRST Robotics, VEX Robotics, RoboCup, Formula Student / Formula SAE / Baja SAE, hackathons, or similar.
Technical degree in Robotics, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience developing test scripts or automated test frameworks for hardware.
Experience designing custom test fixtures or bench-level test hardware.
Hands-on experience with CAD tools for mechanical and electronics design.
