Job Description
The QA Checker will be responsible for performing internal quality checks on final translated materials. They will ensure that the formatting and layout of various document types follow client requirements. Key responsibility is to maintain a high level of quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on the layout of translated materials against original files, following client- or project-specific requirements.
- Format final files in various document types, including but not limited to MS Office file types.
- Localise numbers in target translations following the rules applicable to the relevant target language.
- Adjust text properties, such as size, fonts, column width, spacing, etc.
- Perform post DTP checks
- Has in-depth knowledge of various quality procedures for the company’s key clients.
- Support other teams with quality-related tasks as needed.
- Work together with project management teams to ensure compliance with internal procedures and client requirements.
- Improve personal and professional competencies with focus on time management and prioritisation.
- Maintain and action agreed personal development plan in consultation with line manager.
- Participate in training courses and other types of training to improve and develop personal skill set.
- Seek and provide feedback as part of the performance management process.
Qualifications
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Minimum of 1 year of working experience in a client-driven company
- Bachelor degree (linguistic profile) or equivalent will be considered a plus
- Strong oral and written English skills – at least B2
- Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines
- Very good computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Previous use of CAT tools or other industry-specific applications will be considered a plus
