Who We Are

Nuclearn.ai is a startup technology company delivering solutions to the nuclear and utility industries. We solve meaningful problems using advanced AI and high-quality software, deployed easily and cost-effectively. Our primary product is a web platform that tightly integrates workflow automations, machine learning model deployment, dataset management, and analysis to address specific challenges for our customers in both the nuclear and broader utility sectors. The Nuclearn.ai platform is currently in use at over 50 nuclear reactors across North America, and we are actively expanding our reach to every nuclear utility in the U.S. and abroad, as well as other utility sectors.

Position Overview

At Nuclearn, we are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and usability of our rapidly evolving AI platform. In this role, you’ll work closely with our engineering, product, and customer success teams to build robust testing frameworks, catch bugs before they hit production, and uphold a high standard of software quality for our customers in the nuclear and utility sectors.

If you’re passionate about quality, love breaking things (so they don’t break later), and are excited to grow alongside a fast-paced startup using automation and AI to enhance software quality, we want to hear from you.

Eligibility:

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (green card holder) is required due to DOE Export Compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies.
  • Design, write, and execute automated and manual test cases across our React frontend and Python backend.
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, PyTest) to validate platform functionality, API integrations, and user workflows.
  • Proactively identify areas to apply automation and reduce manual test burden, especially in regression and smoke testing.
  • Explore and apply AI-assisted approaches to test generation, bug prediction, and defect triage as part of continuous improvement.
  • Own end-to-end regression testing for product releases and critical customer workflows.
  • Identify, document, and track software bugs and inconsistencies, driving resolution before production deployment.
  • Establish and evolve QA processes, promoting a culture of quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with DevOps to ensure quality in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Core Skills:
    • Experience testing full stack web applications (frontend and backend).
    • Automated test frameworks: Cypress, PyTest (or equivalents).
    • CI/CD tools and version control: Git, GitHub Actions, etc.
    • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to contribute independently within 6 weeks of onboarding.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience testing applications built with React and FastAPI.
  • Familiarity with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with performance/load testing and security testing tools.
  • Prior experience with AI-powered testing tools (e.g., for test case generation, anomaly detection, or intelligent prioritization).
  • Interest in applying LLMs or AI models to support quality control, including log analysis, test planning, or defect prediction.
  • Exposure to nuclear, utility, or other regulated industries.
  • Prior startup experience or comfort operating in high-velocity environments.
Structure
  • Full-time salaried position
  • Mon-Fri hybrid work environment (expectation is at least 80% in-office)
What You’ll Love
  • Competitive pay, bonus structure, and equity.
  • Opportunity to make a huge impact in a growing, self-funded company.
  • Unique opportunity to work for a company training and applying LLMs and other state-of-the-art AI techniques.
  • Unlimited vacation.
  • Health insurance.

If you're excited about joining a mission-driven team, shipping high-quality software that supports critical infrastructure, and growing your career in a dynamic startup, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Do

With over 60 reactors around the world relying on our technology, Nuclearn is built on one simple idea: nuclear deserves better tools. Our team—made up of nuclear professionals and engineers—set out to modernize the industry by applying AI to some of its most critical, and often outdated, processes.

“We saw this massive gap,” said Bradley Fox, CEO and co-founder. “You’ve got the tech to split atoms, but a lot of the supporting work is still done with decades-old systems. We knew AI could help streamline that complexity—making things safer, faster, and more efficient. It’s a win for the plants, and for the future of clean energy.”

Jerrold Vincent, our CFO and co-founder, adds: “Back in 2016, we recognized the potential for AI to support nuclear—not just in cutting costs, but in preparing the next generation of workers. That’s why we started Nuclearn. We believe AI is one of the best tools we have to keep nuclear strong for the long haul.”

The software we’ve built isn’t generic. It’s nuclear-specific, pre-trained, and ready to go—designed by people who’ve lived the process and know exactly what this industry needs.
