As we continue to scale and enhance our product quality, we're seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer who can strengthen our testing infrastructure and processes. This role will be crucial in ensuring product reliability, implementing automated testing solutions, and maintaining high-quality standards across our platforms. The ideal candidate will balance manual and automated testing approaches, ensuring Xano delivers a robust and bug-free experience to our users.
Who we're looking for:
A QA Engineer with a methodical approach and technical expertise. The right candidate has experience in both manual and automated testing, with a proven track record of implementing effective testing strategies in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires excellence in identifying potential issues before they reach production and developing comprehensive test coverage. The position involves creating and maintaining test plans, developing automated test suites, and ensuring quality across all product features. Strong technical skills, particularly in TypeScript and Playwright, are essential for collaborating effectively with developers and creating robust testing frameworks.
What you'll be doing:

• Developing and executing comprehensive test strategies that combine manual and automated testing approaches to ensure product quality and reliability
• Creating, maintaining, and executing manual test plans for new features and regression testing
• Designing and implementing automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript to improve testing efficiency
• Conducting thorough manual testing of new features and verifying bug fixes before releases
• Collaborating with development teams during sprint planning and implementation to ensure testability
• Performing detailed regression testing to verify that code changes don't impact existing functionality
• Creating and maintaining automated tests for UI components, API endpoints, and end-to-end scenarios
• Supporting implementation of Styling Regression Testing using Playwright for visual change detection
• Participating in release week activities, including Manual Acceptance Testing and last-minute verification
• Troubleshooting and fixing failing tests due to UI changes or system updates
• Working closely with development teams to identify and document bugs with clear reproduction steps
• Managing test environments and test data to ensure consistent and reliable testing conditions
• Contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing methodologies
• Maintaining detailed documentation of testing procedures and test results
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are met across all product areas

Your Competencies:

• Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and best practices
• Proficiency in automated testing using Playwright and TypeScript
• Excellent command of testing tools and frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent bug detection skills
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in command-line operations and debugging tools
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle
• Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration
• Experience with test case management tools
• Understanding of web technologies and API testing
• (PLUS) Basic knowledge of the No-Code industry: We are one of the only No-Code Backend platforms that connect to a wide variety of No-Code Front-ends. Having a basic understanding of the landscape would be preferred.

We are a BYOD company and this role will require the use of your own laptop/computer.
