We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer – CAD Applications with strong experience in testing CAD-based or engineering software solutions. The role involves validating CAD functionalities, automation workflows, and system integrations to ensure high-quality delivery of engineering applications.
You will work closely with CAD developers, domain experts, and DevOps teams to ensure functional accuracy, performance, and usability of CAD applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Validation
- Plan, design, and execute functional, integration, and regression testing for CAD applications, plugins, and add-ins.
- Validate CAD functionalities related to geometry creation, feature operations, parametric design, assemblies, and drawings.
- Perform end-to-end testing of CAD automation workflows and rule-based engineering logic.
- Execute installation, upgrade, and compatibility testing across multiple CAD versions and environments.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production validation for CAD-based solutions.
- Automation & Quality Improvements
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for CAD applications wherever feasible.
- Validate APIs, data exchanges, and integrations between CAD systems and external platforms (PLM, ERP, databases, cloud services).
- Identify performance, stability, and data-integrity issues specific to CAD and desktop-based applications.
- Contribute to QA best practices, reusable test assets, and process improvements for CAD projects.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with CAD developers, product owners, and domain experts to clarify requirements and expected behavior.
- Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps, ensuring timely resolution.
- Provide QA estimates, test plans, execution status, and quality metrics during sprint planning and reviews.
- Ensure test cases, test results, and QA documentation are accurate and up to date.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in QA/testing of CAD applications or engineering software.
- Hands-on experience testing CAD platforms such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows, parametric modeling, and geometric concepts.
- Experience in manual testing of desktop applications, plugins, or CAD add-ins.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman or similar) and basic database validation.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience testing engineering, AECO, infrastructure, or manufacturing domain applications.
- Exposure to CAD automation, engineering configurators, or rule-based design systems.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Platform Services (APS) or CAD cloud integrations is a plus.
- Experience with performance, stability, or regression testing for engineering applications.
