Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer – Manual Testing to support the quality and integrity of data-driven applications. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server databases and works closely with cross-functional teams to support Agile development and data reporting initiatives.
- Perform backend testing by validating data stored in Microsoft SQL Server-based databases.
- Write and execute SQL queries to verify data accuracy, support test scenarios, and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct manual testing of Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy, layout consistency, and correct visualizations.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across databases, reports, and user-facing applications.
- Support validation and preparation of federal ED Facts reporting data based on business and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document data validation rules and QA acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with onshore and offshore development teams to align QA activities and resolve issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect logs.
- Validate database updates, patches, and ensure no regression issues are introduced.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation for repetitive and regression test scenarios.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server with the ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing, particularly focused on data accuracy, backend validation, and end-to-end workflows.
- Proficient in API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar; able to validate request/response structure, status codes, and payload data.
- Experience in testing Power BI reports, validating data sources, visual accuracy, and report logic.
- Must have experience using Azure DevOps or similar test/project management tools such as Jira for managing test cases, bugs, and sprint tracking.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills for writing test cases, test plans, and defect logs.
- Exposure to test automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Manual Testing
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in Automation Testing
