We are FIS Capital Markets Shared Technical Services Group, providing Test Automation solutions to our FIS Capital Markets products Clients.
About the role
As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium with Java or other tools. You will play a key role in the project lifecycle, including requirement analysis, test planning, scripting coordination, and automation execution. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery through continuous integration and testing.
What you will be doing
Participate in requirement discussions with internal/external clients to define automation scope and complexity.
Prepare detailed test plans and test case scenarios based on business requirements.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium with Java or similar tools, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Collaborate with BA to transfer functional knowledge.
Analyze test execution results and troubleshoot failures using logs.
Liaise with client teams to resolve configuration-related issues and update scripts accordingly.
Raise and track defects through standard resolution processes for core code issues.
Review release notes and assess impact on existing test cases, initiating script maintenance as needed.
Estimate effort and scope for new automation requests and enhancements.
What you bring
3-5 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in Capital Markets or Financial Services domain.
Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Java, and test frameworks like TestNG or JUnit.
Knowledge in Git for version control and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Understanding of SQL and relational databases for test data validation and analysis.
Experience in testing web applications and APIs.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project lifecycle.
Excellent communication and presentation skills- ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Attention to detail – track record of authoring high-quality documentation
Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements
Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team
