QA Automation Engineer – Playwright

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright, Java Selenium, Java Cucumber, and modern test automation practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable automation frameworks, developing automated test suites, validating APIs and backend systems, and ensuring high-quality software releases through continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires close collaboration with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using:

o Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript)

o Selenium WebDriver with Java

o Cucumber BDD Framework

· Create and execute automated test scripts for:

o Functional Testing

o Regression Testing

o End-to-End Testing

o Smoke and Sanity Testing

o Cross-browser Testing

· Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and support release validation activities.

· Develop and maintain reusable automation components, utilities, and libraries to improve test efficiency and scalability.

· Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent technologies.

· Validate backend data through SQL queries and database testing.

· Analyze application requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.

· Identify defects, perform root cause analysis, track issues, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.

· Review automation code and enforce testing best practices, naming standards, and framework guidelines.

· Monitor automation execution results, maintain test metrics, and generate quality reports for stakeholders.

· Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

· Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA organization.

· Support performance, security, and accessibility testing initiatives when required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience implementing Playwright automation from scratch.

· Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.

· Knowledge of Docker, containerized testing, and modern DevOps practices.

· Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter.

· Experience testing enterprise applications, web portals, APIs, and reporting platforms.

· Understanding of test automation design patterns and framework architecture.

· Exposure to Power BI, Grafana, or analytics/reporting platforms is a plus.
