As a Python / Agentic AI Software Engineer III / AWS at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.  You’ll contribute to delivering production-grade AI-enabled platforms and services in close partnership with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. This role is hands-on: you’ll help build and enhance secure, cloud-native, well-governed AI capabilities, support proof-of-concept (POC) execution. You’ll operate as a developing engineer who learns to translate business needs into reliable implementations—contributing to the team’s “build-and-enable” mission by shipping initial solutions while helping document standards, reusable components, and operating discipline that enable sustained delivery velocity and risk-managed adoption.


Job Responsibilities


  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Builds and enhances cloud-native, microservices-based components under guidance, following established architectural standards.
  • Participates in domain modeling and API/service design discussions to help create maintainable, testable software.
  • Writes secure, high-quality production code, and participate in code reviews; debug issues in your code and assist with resolving issues in team-owned components.
  • Supports operational stability by helping identify recurring issues, writing runbooks, improving monitoring/alerts, and contributing to remediation/automation tasks.
  • Participates in agile ceremonies (standups, planning, refinements, retros) and deliver work in small, well-scoped increments.
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience 
  • Exposure to agentic development patterns, including building or integrating LLM/agent-based workflows (e.g., tool/function calling, prompt/version management, guardrails, evaluation/testing, and monitoring), with an understanding of secure and compliant usage in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in back-end development with Python and Flask/Django or similar and experience building or contributing to service-oriented/microservices applications.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Angular or similar).
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), distributed systems basics, and web technologies).
  • Experience designing and working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and core SDLC practices (version control, CI pipelines, testing, deployments).
  • Understanding of fundamentals of application resiliency and security (e.g., error handling, timeouts/retries, least privilege, secrets management), and willingness to learn firm standards.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.

  • Experience improving quality through unit/integration testing, observability (logs/metrics/traces), and basic automation.
  • Exposure to banking/financial services domain concepts.
  • Familiarity with WebSockets and experience with large scale data processing frameworks like Pyspark

Skills Required
