About the RoleThe PYP Homeroom and Math Teacher will guide primary students through the IB Primary Years Programme, fostering inquiry-based learning across core subjects while providing focused instruction in mathematics. This role supports whole-child development, encourages curiosity, and helps students build strong conceptual understanding.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead a primary-grade homeroom class within the IB PYP framework
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons across core subject areas
Teach mathematics with a focus on conceptual understanding and skill development
Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
Develop unit plans aligned with PYP standards and school curriculum goals
Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and communicate progress
Maintain positive communication with parents and guardians
Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and curriculum consistency
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning
Contribute to after‑school activities or clubs as assigned
Provide pastoral care as part of the homeroom responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Teaching certification/license
Experience teaching in a primary school setting
Understanding of the IB PYP framework and inquiry-based learning
Ability to design engaging lessons that build conceptual and skill-based learning
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and holistic development
Prior experience teaching in an IB PYP school
Training in the IB PYP or inquiry-based methodologies
Experience teaching primary-level mathematics
International teaching experience
