We are looking for an experienced Pursuit Manager. Reporting to the VP, People Strategies & Marketing, this role is responsible for leading the proposal, presentation, and market research efforts in addition to producing best-in-class proposals and presentations. The Pursuit Manager will also support organizational marketing needs, as needed, such project marketing needs, content creation and deliverables, jobsite events, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pursuit Management

  • Partners with Business Unit Leaders, Client Solutions, and Operations to shape pursuit strategies aligned with business development goals and market priorities. 
  • Owns pursuit strategy for high priority assigned opportunities, including positioning, win themes, differentiators, and messaging architecture. Shape the position, win themes, etc. for all pursuits through management of Marketing Coordinators.
  • Translates complex technical and operational inputs into concise, compelling narratives that position Hourigan competitively. 
  • Manage, write, edit, and produce marketing collateral, proposals, qualifications, and interview presentation materials.
  • Review all proposal and marketing material for quality control (content, clarity and grammar); ensure the Hourigan brand in terms of professionalism and consistency is maintained.
  • Help identify, investigate, and build business cases around markets segments; conduct research for local strategic plans and pursuits.

Leadership and Management

  • Organize and lead monthly internal marketing meetings to discuss initiatives and account-based marketing.
  • Leads and develops a team of Marketing Coordinators through coaching, feedback, and performance management. 
  • Establishes clear priorities, workloads, and deadlines to ensure balanced capacity and high-quality deliverables. 
  • Mentors team members in best practices for writing, layout, persuasive storytelling, and critical thinking. 
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth within the marketing team.

General Marketing

  • Drive brand standards across the marketing team and serve as brand ambassador across the organization.
  • Support other marketing efforts including but not limited to jobsite events, producing miscellaneous marketing materials, and aid in any other creative requests needed across the organization.
  • Champion the use of pursuit technologies, including Unanet CRM and JoistAI, to drive efficiency, consistency, and accuracy across pursuit efforts. 
  • Provide marketing support for all organizations under the Hourigan Group umbrella (Development, STRUCTR advisors, Worrks, EQUIPPS). 

Other Responsibilities

  • Continuously evaluates and improves pursuit processes through thoughtful use of technology and data insights.
  • Build strong partnerships and facilitate productive collaboration among diverse internal stakeholders under aggressive deadlines and competing priorities. 
  • Effectively navigates differing perspectives to drive consensus, maintain momentum, and deliver results. 
  • Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.
  • Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of prior marketing/pursuit experience in the AEC industry or similar capacity.
  • Expert knowledge of the regional construction market is preferred.
  • Must understand delivery methods, roles, risks, and strategies in the AEC industry.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and graphic fundamentals.
  • Must be able to listen objectively, interpret needs, and build actionable strategies and programs.
  • Ability to empower others to drive results while also building and maintaining relationships with internal and external groups.
  • Multitasking and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously are required.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.
