Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes effective bidding, negotiation, and pricing strategies to provide the best value for the dollars spent in a manner that meets the budget, policies, ethical standards and audit requirements.
- Negotiate with vendors to ensure purchases are the best possible value and meet/exceed all program deliverables.
- Supports on time delivery to help timely program completion, and maximize profits
- Conducts activities in CMS and other Information Systems to support purchasing
- Establishes solid multiple Vendor sources to ensure continuous supply and availability of purchased components and directed buy components, for production, prototype, and tooling.
- Participates in design reviews in order to ensure the successful launch of new products and tools
- Ensures successful implementation of approved engineering changes by closure of all commercial issues with suppliers
- Ensures CMS pricing modules are maintained accurately
- Prepares, negotiates and executes all contracts according to policies and procedures and government regulations
- Procure all emergency requirements in cooperation with requisitioning departments and other supporting segments to ensure project completion
- Communicates effectively with all requisitioning departments, and arranges for proper and accurate information exchanges between originator and suppliers
- Ensures that all applicable GST and Provincial Tax Exemptions are claimed
- Reconciles variances between Purchase Orders and Invoices (Price, Quantity, Free On Board (F.O.B.), Inco terms, Terms of Payment)
- Ensures purchase orders are entered in a timely manner
- Maintains supplier files, purchase prices, price fluctuations and quality records (CMS/SharePoint)
- Resolves material claims with suppliers
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (ie. IATF 16949, ISO14001)
- Understands, promotes and lives by Magna's philosophies and Employee Charter
- Adheres to Modatek's core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty
- Performs other duties as required.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, with 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement or purchasing operations
- Microsoft Office knowledge Excel and Word; familiarity with digital procurement platforms and ERP systems is an advantage.
- Communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong organized and self-motivated, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in KPI tracking, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Skilled in problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
