Duties And Responsibilities
- Produce and assemble Company procedural and technical information and materials used by Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Operations departments. Proofread final copies and point out possible inconsistencies. Produce illustrations for manuals and other Company documents. Maintain Company style sheet and suggest areas of production where the Company’s product may be streamlined, revised, or otherwise improved. Design databases and database publishing; format Company manuals for publishing on the Company web site and in the SharePoint database.
- Organize, maintain, update and revise manuals and documents contained in the Library. Audit controlled manuals and ensure that all technical manuals for all aircraft, stations, contractors and individuals are current in all locations where issued and that they are in compliance with Empire’s policies and Code of Federal Regulations. Ensure that controlled documents contained in the Library are properly audited for content as well as revision status and that review documents are circulated in a timely manner.
- Maintain a record of each manual assigned, including manual number, aircraft number, office or individual, date assigned, and date returned through the Company electronic database. Distribute revisions to controlled manuals as they are issued, including but not limited to Company manuals, manufacturer’s manuals, controlled training manuals, flight manuals, vendor manuals, maintenance programs or any other manuals controlled by the Company. Administer procedures for all manual holders for tracking and follow-up of manual distribution and revisions, as well as maintain a master list of manual revision status. Distribute periodic inventory list to manual holders for auditing their manuals.
- Process daily library paperwork, which includes but is not limited to logging of returned transmittals and scanning into electronic archives, processing, and distributing new revisions to controlled manuals, filing of new revisions in master manuals. E-mailing notices of updates to manuals and accomplishing proper follow up with manual holders when transmittals are past due. Shipping manual revisions and maintain library supplies.
- Coordinate copying/printing projects for manual revisions and publications with outside vendors.
- Support the MRO library by providing production assistance of its Company manuals.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
Requirements
Education And Experience
- High School or equivalent.
- 2 years Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, or similar software experience, Microsoft Office Suite including M.S. Outlook, M.S. Access.
- Technical publications background preferred, to include knowledge of copyright infringements, Technical Writing, Editing, and Proofreading.
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written, have a valid driver’s license with insurable record through Empire’s policy.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment with travel required. Will be exposed to noise and hazards associated with a hangar. Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business
pay & Benefits
- Starting Pay for this position is $21.50 - $26.00 an hour DOE
- This is a full-time position, and includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Travel and other benefits
Skills Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat or similar software
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Microsoft Access
- Technical publications background including technical writing, editing, proofreading, and copyright knowledge
- Detail oriented with ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with insurable record
