Role OverviewThe PR Specialist owns earned media execution and public narrative support for Muvr and the founder brand. You will pitch stories, build journalist relationships, draft press materials, and coordinate launches and announcements. You will also support reputation monitoring and issue-response planning to protect trust across customers, drivers, partners, and investors.
This role combines strategy and execution. You will be expected to generate meaningful coverage consistently, operate with strong writing discipline, and measure outcomes beyond vanity mentions.
Key Responsibilities1) Media Relations and Earned Media- Build and maintain relationships with relevant journalists, editors, and producers across business, tech, local services, logistics, and consumer marketplace media.
- Pitch story ideas, milestones, thought leadership angles, and founder narratives with strong news hooks and clear relevance.
- Secure consistent earned media coverage across top-priority, mid-tier, and local market outlets.
- Maintain a press calendar and outreach cadence with clear weekly activity and follow-through.
- Develop and refine Muvr’s public narrative, including what we do, why it matters, why we win, and the proof behind it.
- Draft and polish press releases, media pitches, bylines, talking points, FAQs, and spokesperson briefs.
- Ensure messaging consistency across PR, partnerships, social media, investor updates, and brand channels.
- Build and maintain a message house and proof library that includes stats, customer stories, partner stories, and company milestones.
- Support product launches, market expansions, partnerships, and company milestones with structured PR plans and timelines.
- Coordinate launch readiness with Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, and leadership teams.
- Prepare leaders for interviews through briefing documents, Q&A preparation, and rehearsal support.
- Track coverage results and publish post-launch readouts outlining what landed, what missed, and what should happen next.
- Monitor press mentions, social chatter, and brand sentiment, and flag reputational risks early.
- Support response planning for sensitive issues such as claims, safety incidents, service failures, or reputational threats.
- Maintain an issue-response toolkit that includes holding statements, escalation paths, and approval workflows.
- Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Trust and Safety, and Operations when incidents require structured communications support.
- Track PR performance across coverage quality, message pull-through, sentiment, share of voice, backlink value, and referral traffic.
- Maintain a weekly PR dashboard and monthly summary for leadership.
- Continuously refine pitching strategy based on results, including angle performance, journalist responsiveness, and outlet fit.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity, streamline research and drafting, organize media workflows, and enhance execution quality while maintaining sound judgment and message accuracy.
- 3 to 6+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or media roles.
- Proven ability to secure earned media coverage and manage journalist relationships effectively.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a clear, concise, and professional style.
- Experience supporting launches, announcements, or communications campaigns.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- Comfort using AI tools and willingness to learn emerging AI workflows to improve productivity, strengthen research and writing processes, and support high-quality execution responsibly.
- Experience in tech, startups, marketplaces, logistics, or consumer services.
- Experience supporting founders or executive spokespeople.
- Familiarity with crisis communications, issue management, and reputation protection.
- Strong understanding of what makes stories newsworthy and how to package proof points effectively.
- Familiarity with tools and systems such as Slack, Google Workspace, ChatGPT, ClickUp, Hubstaff, media databases, monitoring tools, and other role-relevant platforms.
- Own and shape the public narrative of a fast-growing marketplace brand.
