Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists with Stantec for a Public Information Officer. We are seeking a highly-motivated person who will work closely with Stantec’s leadership on the outreach and delivery of the I-526 Lowcountry Corridor projects.
The position's qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, a successful candidate must possess strong presentation skills to lead public involvement and outreach programs, as well as strong project and program management expertise. An understanding of corridor-level planning and project development under both state and federal environmental laws and programs is also required.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the Project Office
- Implement the communication plan for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Projects
- Build relationships with stakeholders, community members, and project resources
- Coordinate with various consultants and contractors responsible for delivering services for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Projects
- Assist in the design of public-facing materials
- Provide summaries of events hosted at the Project Office
- Organize comments received during office operations and track responses
- Ensure processes and client preferences are followed
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Managing various aspects of public involvement program for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Project.
- Experience in successful public engagement programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to lead a public involvement team on multiple assignments
- Strong client interaction and professional relationship-building skills
- Team player and positive, cooperative attitude
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Position will primarily work in an office setting. Employee may drive on company business to attend meetings, open houses, workshops etc.
