Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists with Stantec for a Public Information Officer. We are seeking a highly-motivated person who will work closely with Stantec’s leadership on the outreach and delivery of the I-526 Lowcountry Corridor projects.
The position's qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, a successful candidate must possess strong presentation skills to lead public involvement and outreach programs, as well as strong project and program management expertise. An understanding of corridor-level planning and project development under both state and federal environmental laws and programs is also required.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the Project Office
  • Implement the communication plan for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Projects
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, community members, and project resources
  • Coordinate with various consultants and contractors responsible for delivering services for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Projects
  • Assist in the design of public-facing materials
  • Provide summaries of events hosted at the Project Office
  • Organize comments received during office operations and track responses
  • Ensure processes and client preferences are followed
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Managing various aspects of public involvement program for I-526 Lowcountry Corridor Project. 
  • Experience in successful public engagement programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to lead a public involvement team on multiple assignments
  • Strong client interaction and professional relationship-building skills
  • Team player and positive, cooperative attitude

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting. Employee may drive on company business to attend meetings, open houses, workshops etc.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
