The Provider Services Support Specialist’s primary responsibility is to work within multiple electronic medical record (EMR) systems to pull medical record documentation. The role will handle the preparation, processing sending and receiving of all mail as well as perform daily tasks such as printing documents to pdf and navigating internal systems efficiently.    

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing full cycle USPS Mail: preparing, processing, sending, and receiving (in office only) appeals prepared in internal system.         
  • Managing Incoming Mail (in office only) from USPS Mail: Opening, Scanning, uploading, and updating internal systems.         
  • Operation and maintenance of fax queue 
  • Retrieve clinical documents from client system and place in internal system      
  • Retrieving additional documents requested by the Nursing Staff from either the EMR or contacting the physician office via phone/fax.       
  • Review EMRs for payer correspondence related to TREND appeal

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent      
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures, systems such as Microsoft 365, printing, scanning and faxing hardware, managing files and records, and workplace terminology    

Preferred Qualifications

    Prior experience using Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech       

Mental and Physical Demands

  • This position will be exposed mainly to an indoor/office environment and will be expected to work in or around computers and printers.
  • The nature of the work is sedentary, and the employee will be sitting most of the time.
  • Essential physical functions of the job include typing and the repetitive motion to utilize computer software and hardware continuously throughout the day.
  • Essential mental functions of this position include concentrating on analytical tasks, reading information, and verbal/written communication to others continuously throughout the day.
