The thesis.

Specialty practices don’t grow through billboards. They grow through relationships — one primary care office, one physical therapist, one athletic trainer, one school nurse at a time. Every new patient who gets orthopedic care at Genesis starts with someone in the community trusting us enough to send them our way..

That someone starts with you.

About Genesis.

A multi-location orthopedic practice across Chicagoland, built to expand access to musculoskeletal care — including for Medicaid patients and underserved communities most specialty practices won’t serve. We move like an entrepreneurial company, not a hospital system. We’re growing fast, and we need a person on the ground turning that growth into real relationships.

Our mission is to provide world-class care that the rich desire and the poor can access. Our patients include elite athletes, those who can’t afford insurance, and everyone in between. You’ll collaborate with members of our Professional Athlete Advisory Board to help us maximize our impact in the Chicago community

The role.

You are Genesis in the community. Every day, you’re out — visiting primary care offices, catching PTs on their break, dropping in on urgent care facilities, meeting with athletic trainers, school administrators, and workers’ comp adjusters. You build trust. You make it easy for people to refer a patient to us. You bring the practice’s warmth and mission with you into every room.

You will:

  • Show up. Every day. Regular, in-person visits to primary care practices, referring providers, and community partners across Chicagoland. This is a windshield-time role.
  • Manage the referral book. Own the key referrer and partner relationships. Know who’s sending patients, who used to, and who could. Follow up. Fix problems fast.
  • Host the moments that matter. Occasional lunch-and-learns, dinners with referring providers, open houses, coffee chats, small community events, and large scale promotional events at our professional sports events— pulled together with our clinical team, growth team, and external partners.
  • Bring intelligence back. What are referring providers hearing? What’s making it hard to send patients to us? You’re our eyes and ears in the field.
  • Own Online Reputation. When patients leave reviews: investigate them, cascade positive ones to providers, and support the team in developing operational changes to create better patient experience.

Who you are.

  • Warm. People like being around you. You remember names, kids, coffee orders.
  • Motivated. No one has to tell you to make the next call, plan the next visit, or follow up on last week’s meeting. You thoroughly enjoy the job itself and will compete with yourself to be better today than you were the day before.
  • Detail-oriented and strategic. Every name and lead represents potential partnerships that can lead to better health and lives. Tracking your conversations and relationships in our CRM and being eager to derive insights from your efforts is critical to success. You're excited about creating strategy from the body of work you generate.
  • Relational, not transactional. You build trust before you ask for anything.
  • Local. You know Chicagoland — or you’re excited to learn it neighborhood by neighborhood.
  • Mission-aligned. You care that Genesis serves everyone, including patients other specialty practices turn away.
  • Values-aligned. You value and are naturally compelled to demonstrate Compassion, Humility, Passion, Excellence, Faith, and Hard Work.
  • Comfortable in a car. Most of your week is on the road.
