- Oversee and monitor the entire Protestant Religious Education program, including Sunday children’s programs, JAMM and PWOC children’s ministry, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, and ecumenical youth fellowship.
- Be present at the Religious Education facility when classes are in session to support students, teachers, and parents.
- Teach or lead religious education classes and activities when volunteer shortages arise, using the approved ministry plan and curriculum.
- Coordinate with the Catholic Religious Education counterpart to plan and maintain supplies and resources for an annual ecumenical Vacation Bible School.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and equip volunteers for religious education programs, including teachers, song leaders, craft coordinators, and snack coordinators.
- Coordinate and maintain background check requirements for volunteers working with children.
- Track enrollment, volunteer hours, attendance, and related program records; provide regular updates and monthly reports to chapel leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for religious education administrative requirements and maintain organized program files.
- Coordinate facility requests, funding requests, supplies, and logistics required for Protestant religious education programs and events.
- Arrange qualified substitute coverage during absences and provide advance notice for extended time away when programming or office hours are affected.
- Support communication efforts through weekly bulletins, seasonal displays, newsletters, and special email announcements.
- Prepare agenda items for Parish Advisory Council meetings and support annual ministry planning, budget development, and curriculum orders.
- Attend weekly staff meetings as required and arrive prior to the scheduled start time.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with chapel staff, military personnel, lay leaders, and volunteers.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and maintain constructive working relationships.
