Duties and Responsibilities
Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to support Protestant religious education and community programs at U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii chapel facilities.
The Coordinator will work closely with chaplains, religious education leadership, pastoral staff, volunteers, and chapel communities to organize and support religious education programs throughout the year. The position combines program coordination, religious education, administrative support, event planning, communication, and classroom preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support Protestant religious education programs and activities.
- Prepare and maintain monthly calendars for religious education, chapel, seasonal, and community events.
- Attend required weekly, monthly, and program-planning meetings.
- Coordinate facility reservations and prepare required program documentation.
- Develop flyers, announcements, and promotional materials for religious education and community events.
- Track attendance and maintain accurate program records and reports.
- Assist with and conduct regular or seasonal religious education classes as needed.
- Organize curriculum, classroom materials, supplies, copies, and learning spaces before scheduled programs.
- Distribute materials and restore classrooms and activity spaces following events.
- Support seasonal programs including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Vacation Bible School, and Religious Education Kickoff activities.
- Serve in an assigned leadership role for Vacation Bible School and support community readiness events.
- Coordinate resources and publicity for Protestant community events and special programs.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of religious support and deployment-related resources.
- Support administrative processing related to child/youth program background checks, including document review, tracking, pre-registration, and coordination.
- Maintain professional and positive working relationships with Protestant chapel communities, pastoral staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Degree in Christian Religious Education or a related ministry field from an accredited institution. Candidates must be able to provide an official diploma or transcript.
- Formal training and demonstrated understanding of Protestant Christian education concepts and practices.
- Relevant experience within the past five years in a military chapel environment, such as:
- Religious Education Coordinator
- Christian School Teacher
- Youth Minister
- Bible School Teacher
- Similar religious education or ministry position
- Ability to provide 1–3 professional or volunteer experience references demonstrating relevant military chapel experience. Relevant documented military chapel volunteer experience may also qualify.
- Experience with military religious support programs is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to prepare professional emails, calendars, reports, flyers, announcements, and program materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to work respectfully and professionally in a pluralistic environment with individuals from diverse faith traditions and backgrounds.
Skills Required
