In the Agile Program Lead role, you’ll ensure your program’s delivery success by leveraging the appropriate Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe/LESS, etc.) to enable predictable, quality delivery while maintaining a focus on the continuous improvement of the program.
The Agile Program Lead will optimize productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the program’s goals while preserving the team’s flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to change. This individual will have a proven track record of bringing analytical insights to bear and the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage operations in a dynamic, complex environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing Agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role.
This role requires a mix of Agile delivery expertise, risk management knowledge, and program management background. An ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, demonstrate domain competency with respect to Agile delivery, and be familiar with operationalizing program level teams and processes.
Responsibilities:
Cross Team Delivery
Mastery of complex facilitation and dependency management techniques (cross team, cross department)
Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity
Understands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream/downstream dependencies and to support the program in risk management
Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments
Help establish governance structure where decision-making is weighted toward empowered teams
Ensure that teams/program are well managed in delivery controls/compliance to minimize operational/reputational risk
Partners with technical leaders and others to support program/organization’s automation (testing, pipelines, deployments)/DevOps journey
Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership and create structure to effectively drive broad cross-functional initiatives
Lead teams and drive delivery within large projects across diverse teams and locations to timely completion. Delegate and escalate appropriately to overcome obstacles and communicate program status and team achievements. Instill a fun team environment for successful collaboration and creative problem solving.
Analyze, identify, and track issues across multiple products and teams
Facilitate data updates and communicate impacts to key performers and stakeholder

Coaching
Teach, mentor, and coach teams, Scrum Masters, ARTs and Product on emerging Agile and Lean methods
Utilizes feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and partners with others to coach the program to continuously improve
Coaches the program to improve collaboration, self-organization and Innovation
Agile & Technical Learning: Actively seeks and leads a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community
Core Responsibilities:
Lead preparation and execution of release planning for the Agile Release Team (ART)
Collaborate with the program team that prioritizes the features to be considered in the next program increment (PI) planning cycle
Facilitate PI Planning readiness activities with Product Management and Architecture/Engineering by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the vision, roadmap, and backlogs through Pre- and Post-PI planning meetings.
Facilitate the ART's refinement of program backlog to be considered in the next PI planning cycle to meet the feature definition of ready
Facilitate ART events including: Program Increment Planning event, System Demos, and sync events such as the Scrum of Scrums, Product Owner Sync, and ART Sync
Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments
Coach teams and individuals on techniques to identify and remove delays, bottlenecks, and waste in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
Drive relentless improvement through the Inspect and Adapt event
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 5 years of experience in software delivery or infrastructure delivery
At least 5 years of Agile experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban or SAFe methodologies
At least 5 years of program, project, or portfolio management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
6+ years of Agile delivery experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban or SAFe frameworks
5+ years of experience using Jira or Confluence
At least one of the following certifications: CSM, CSP, PMI’s ACP, SAFe, PMP or Lean Six Sigma
