Position Summary:

The Project Administrator for Quality Improvement is responsible for supporting the administrative operations and administration of projects for the Quality Department. The Project Administrator supports clinically-focused improvement endeavors to understand, improve and sustain high-value, patient-centered care. The Project Administrator:

  • Assists in establishing and following procedures for effectively gathering and entering data, and electronic file management for quality improvement data.
  • Serves as a resource for data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Provides integrated project management support for high-priority, high-visibility initiatives.

This position requires frequent interaction and coordination with hospital and health system leadership.

Education:

Bachelors degree in business or healthcare administration, or equivalent is required. Masters Degree in business or healthcare administration is preferred.

Required Work Experience:

Five years of business administration experience required, preferably related to healthcare.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Requires knowledge of the administrative operations required at the leadership level for medical centers, corporations or other complex organizations.

Requires knowledge of business operations, financial analysis, business and project planning, and quantitative analysis.

Work requires an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, organizational structure, reimbursement mechanisms, and information systems.

Must be able to work with all levels of staff in a health care organization.

Must be able to effectively communicate with senior executives in The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Must be able to work effectively with physicians and clinical faculty.

-Organizational skills.

Must be able to navigate complex organizations.

Must understand both the physician and the hospital side of health care operations in an academic setting.

Must be able to manage projects, timetables and implementations.
-Financial skills.

Must be able to develop operational plans and budgets.

Must be able to interpret University and Hospital financial systems and reports.
-Data management and analytic skills.

Must be able to apply quantitative analysis skills to operational decision-making.

Must be proficient with web-based business applications, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Project management software experience preferred.
-Writing skills.

Must have excellent writing skills and be able to develop concise memorandums, meeting minutes, reports and presentations.
