The role
SoFi's Deposit and Investment Products Risk Management team has responsibility for ensuring growth in the Invest product line and other member related activities are consistent with the company's risk appetite across Active, Robo, ETF, and Crypto Asset classes. The team is an integral part of the broader SoFi Risk Management group which holistically manages operational risk, credit, deposit products, fraud prevention, portfolio management, infrastructure, information security, risk data science, and business operating risks. In addition, Risk Management directly manages partners, ensures strong compliance with regulations, acts as a multi-layered second line of defense in oversight of business operations, and works to ensure risk policies enable a member-first experience.
Investment Products Risk Principal will have responsibility for policy, evaluation of asset class diversification proposals, counterparty oversight, infrastructure controls, and establishing strong analytical portfolio risk management metrics. This role will enhance SoFi Invest governance, trading risk, platform surveillance, and operational process changes. In addition, this role will have primary responsibilities for architecture of risk controls across product innovations and asset classes - including trading, marketplace, and funds availability.
What you’ll do:
Firm’s Trading Risk Oversight and managing risk allocations across portfolios and sectors
Report, Analyze and Create Firm’s Portfolio Risk Approach
Perform and Analyze Inventory Exposure and Report Analytics such as VAR, Sector Exposure, Beta-Delta Adjusted and Liquidity parameters.
Oversight of Cash Movement, Margin and Option Policies and ongoing implementation
Operational Risk Policies and Procedures
Business Risk Oversight
Adhering to Regulatory Requirements with a focus on best execution and understanding firm’s capital requirements/ account level exposure.
Develop analytical metrics and instrumentation that proactively identify, quantify, and provide timely risk assessment
What you’ll need:
10+ years of relevant investment management, portfolio trading, equities valuation, operational risk management, business risk management or equivalent experience
Corporate Investment/Banking experience
Deep trading or Investment Portfolio Risk Management experience
Experience reporting, analyzing and interpreting trading and inventory risk management
Understanding of financial markets especially related to metrics as best execution and slippage/improvement in executing customer and proprietary trading flow.
Skillful in using risk tools such as Bloomberg APIs or any commercial risk data source to help create an actionable reporting infrastructure.
Experience in using third party provided tools to manage firm’s inventory exposure such as Redi, Sterling and/or other EMSs.
Exposure to using risk reporting services such as Algorithmics, Numerix, PortfolioScience, Bloomberg API, R and/or Python tools
Nice to have:

Skillful in using Python and SQL based Queries
