Job Summary: Project Specialist I supports the design, development, and implementation of automation
and control systems for industrial and critical environment applications. This role works closely with our Kroger team(s) across Dallas-Fort Worth, Kroger management, staff and other non-Kroger customers. The position offers hands-on experience across the full-service while building technical skills, troubleshooting capabilities, and customer-facing communication in a collaborative engineering environment. This specific position is for the semi-embedded Kroger technician in the Dallas-Fort Worth area working with their existing Bosch intrusion and fire systems.
Responsibilities:
- Determine the design and performance parameters for control system applications.
- Support sales by visiting customer sites to support discussions related to the technical details of potential solutions.
- Provide direction and support through the construction process.
- Perform, assist, and sign off on final testing/commissioning of the completed systems.
- Initiate final technical documentation for completed projects (As-Builts).
- Troubleshoot and service Bosch intrusion and fire hardware.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for other technicians, customers, and sales teams.
- Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous education/development. (school, reading, seminars, industry group membership, etc.)
- Maintain clean driving record.
- Must be able to access and inspect all areas of Kroger Security and Life Safety systems.
- Must be able to travel as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Texas FAL License required
- 3+ years of commercial security, access control, intrusion, CCTV/video surveillance service experience
- 3+ years of experience servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems (e.g., Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon, Milestone, Software House, CCURE, Bosch, or similar platforms) Bosch Fire and Intrusion systems, preferred.
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems
- Experience reading blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work independently in customer environments
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS (Computer/Mechanical) or equivalent experience/training.
- 5+ years of experience in Security and Life Safety environment.
- 5+ years of experience working as a fire inspector with knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
- 5+ years of experience servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems (e.g., Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon, Milestone, Software House, CCURE, Bosch, or similar platforms) Bosch Fire and Intrusion systems, preferred.
- Bosch Master Level certification.

- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
- Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
- Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. Heights work may be required.

Skills Required
- High school diploma
- 1+ years experience in Security and Life Safety field
- 1+ years experience with Bosch intrusion and fire systems
- FAL License
- Bosch Intrusion Systems Certification
- Knowledge of intrusion, access control, video (analog and digital), and fire systems
- Ability to self-manage and operate in a remote environment
- Ability to operate with little guidance and supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clean driving record
