The Project Scheduling Manager will develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules, evaluate project performance, identify schedule risks, develop recovery strategies, and provide technical leadership to project-site schedulers and project teams.

The ideal candidate understands not only how to build a schedule, but how construction projects are actually built. This includes sequencing, logistics, crew requirements, equipment, production rates, subcontractor coordination, and field execution.

This position requires extensive travel to project locations throughout North America, potentially up to 85%.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop proposal, preconstruction, baseline, execution, and completion schedules for complex construction projects.
  • Build and maintain detailed CPM schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Develop resource-loaded schedules aligned with project estimates, crew requirements, production rates, and execution plans.
  • Lead planning sessions and scheduling workshops with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collect and validate project progress through coordination with project teams and direct observation of field conditions.
  • Analyze critical path, float, schedule variance, production rates, resource requirements, and forecasted completion dates.
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, and emerging trends and communicate potential impacts to project leadership.
  • Develop recovery schedules, what-if scenarios, and alternative sequencing strategies to address project delays or changing conditions.
  • Evaluate resource requirements and recommend improvements to resource leveling, sequencing, and project execution.
  • Maintain schedule documentation supporting change management, delay analysis, and claims avoidance.
  • Develop schedule narratives, performance reports, and customized project controls reporting.
  • Review and audit project schedules for quality, consistency, and compliance with scheduling standards.
  • Participate in project schedule reviews and performance meetings.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to field schedulers, scheduling consultants, and project teams.
  • Train and mentor project personnel on planning, scheduling, resource loading, and project controls best practices.
  • Support productivity and production-rate analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling processes, standards, and tools.
  • Support 4D scheduling and modeling activities when applicable.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of construction scheduling, planning, or project controls experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience developing detailed baseline schedules and maintaining schedules throughout active construction.
  • Experience developing and analyzing resource-loaded schedules.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, materials, equipment, production rates, and crew requirements.
  • Ability to analyze critical-path movement, float, schedule variance, delays, and project performance trends.
  • Experience developing recovery schedules, what-if scenarios, and alternative execution plans.
  • Ability to independently assess project progress and validate schedule updates against actual field conditions.
  • Experience working directly with project managers, superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and other construction stakeholders.
  • Experience providing technical oversight, schedule reviews, or leadership to other schedulers.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout North America for extended project assignments, up to approximately 85%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing or supervising project-site schedulers.
  • Scheduling experience across industrial, civil, energy, utility, healthcare, automotive, commercial, or infrastructure construction.
  • Experience managing large and complex resource-loaded Primavera P6 schedules.

  • Schedule risk analysis, delay analysis, change management, or claims-avoidance experience.
  • Productivity and production-rate analysis experience.
