The Project Manager in our Production studio is a hands-on, production-fluent role responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex exhibition build projects. This position sits at the intersection of fabrication and systems integration — owning vendor relationships, managing build schedules, and ensuring that structural, AV, and electrical scopes come together seamlessly on time and on budget. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in structural fabrication and a working fluency across AV and electromechanical systems, with the curiosity and collaborative instinct to bridge these disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
This is not a desk job. You will be as comfortable on a fabrication floor reviewing a steel weld as you are in a coordination meeting aligning a fabrication vendor with internal and external AV and electromechanical teams.
QualificationsRequired
- 2+ years of project management or production management experience in exhibition design-build, themed entertainment, construction, specialty fabrication, trade show, or a closely related industry
- Deep working knowledge of structural fabrication techniques including steel and aluminum fabrication, millwork, CNC routing, welding, and surface finishing
- Demonstrated experience managing vendor and subcontractor relationships from bid through close-out
- Functional understanding of AV systems and electrical scopes — enough to coordinate with specialists, review drawings, and flag integration conflicts
- Strong budget management skills with experience tracking project costs and processing purchase orders and change orders
- Proficiency reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and architectural plans
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced production environment
- Willingness and ability to travel to vendor facilities and job sites as project needs require
Preferred
- Hands-on background in fabrication, carpentry, metalwork, or a related trade
- Experience coordinating AV or electrical subcontractors on integrated exhibition or experiential projects
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as monday.com, Procore, Smartsheet, or similar
- Experience with 2D/3D drawing review tools (Bluebeam, Solidworks, Revit or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Procore construction management software
- Knowledge of venue requirements, permitting processes, and code compliance for temporary and permanent installations
