We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (m/w/d) to lead high-profile projects within the European space sector. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects related to space missions, satellite systems, or EU-funded space initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, manage strategic partnerships, and oversee the successful execution of cutting-edge space programs.
Tasks
* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale space projects aligned with EU regulations and funding requirements.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Ensure compliance with ESA (European Space Agency), EUSPA (EU Agency for the Space Program), and EU regulatory frameworks.
* Perform risk management to minimize potential risks and track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
* Manage the relationship with the Customer and relevant stakeholders as well as with third parties/vendors.
* Provide strategic leadership and ensure alignment with organizational and EU space policy goals.
* Perform other related duties as assigned and necessary.
Requirements
* 10+ years of experience in project management within the European space sector.
* Proven track record managing large-scale, ESA / EU-funded space projects (e.g., Galileo, Copernicus, Horizon Europe).
* Experience working on international projects, with a proven ability to navigate multicultural environments.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of German is highly appreciated.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills to negotiate, mediate conflicts, and inspire teams effectively.
* knowledge of and experience in dealing with export control regulations
* Strong knowledge of ESA and EUSPA regulations, grant funding mechanisms, and space policy frameworks.
* Expertise in systems engineering, satellite technology, or space infrastructure is highly desirable.
* Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
* PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly desirable
