Location: Norfolk, VA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.  

  1. Responsible for all aspects of production management, including high quality production throughout yard on all projects of conversions, repairs, upgrades, modifications, and new fabrication at pier side, on dry docks or in shops.  

  1. Responsible for overall production supervision, including facility and project manpower levels, production manpower assignment, skilled and unskilled crafts, support crafts, equipment, and facility. 

  1. Work closely with Estimators, Project Managers, and General Manager to assist with effective management of manhours, scheduling, project and facility budgets, and customer relations. 

  1. Maintain a high standard of safety and quality control. 

Required Education & Experience: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology preferred or equivalent experience of five to seven years. 

  1. Knowledge and Experience in Production and Manufacturing processes and techniques. 

  1. Knowledge and Experience of Raw Materials, Quality Control and Business/Management Principles. 

Working Conditions: 

  1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and / or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. 

  1. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment and be able to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the office. 

  1. Mobility to climb up and down stairs, as needed. 

  1. Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. 

  1. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, including the ability to look at a computer screen for at least eight hours each day. 

  1. Hearing and communicating in person and over the telephone. 

Necessary Equipment Operation: 

  1. Office equipment, including telephone, fax machine, scanner, computer, printer.

  1. Strong Organizational skills.
